HARRY W. SCHMALTZ, M.D. received his premedical degree from Bucknell University and his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine.  He completed a five year internship and residency program at Geisinger Medical Center.

As a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee  Surgeons, Dr. Schmaltz's main interest is total joint replacement of the hip and knee.  Dr. Schmaltz has developed a comprehensive patient education program which combines pre-surgery physical therapy and information sessions with state of the art pain management techniques to produce the best possible results for the patient.  He is the Medical Director of the New Steps Joint Replacement Center at Community Medical Center.

Dr. Schmaltz  is on the staff at Community Medical Center, Moses Taylor Hospital and Northeast Surgery Center.  He maintains offices here in Dickson City.

Dr. Schmaltz is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
