Dr. Tracy Helps Develop Next Generation Surgical Instruments
Dr. Tracy was recently invited to the headquarters of Integra LifeSciences Corporation in Austin, Texas. Dr. Tracy was asked to evaluate and provide feedback on the next generation of instruments to be used for shoulder joint replacement.

Dr. Tracy Invited to Train Surgeons
Dr. Tracy was recently invited to be the faculty surgeon at the inaugural Habakkuk Orthopaedic Summit in Sulphur, Oklahoma. Dr. Tracy gave a lecture on shoulder joint replacement entitled, "Clinical Experience with and Benefits of Diaphyseal Humeral Fixation for Shoulder Arthroplasty." He then demonstrated surgical techniques for shoulder joint replacement to local surgeons and physician assistants.

Congratulations Dr. Siebecker on scoring 600 on your American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS) Recertification exam! The national high pass grade for this exam was >507.

Teaching with Professor David Murray from Oxford
Dr. Schmaltz was recently on faculty for an instructional course held in Colorado to teach the surgical techniques required for the Oxford Knee Replacement procedure.  He was joined by professors Price and Murray from the University of Oxford and several other US surgeons.

Dr. Schmaltz meets with Senator Pat Toomey

Dr. Tracy Invited to National Symposium
Dr. Tracy (center) was recently invited to the Arthrex elbow symposium in Naples Florida.  The symposium addressed the latest advances in elbow surgery including elbow arthroscopy and tommy john ligament reconstruction.  Dr. Tracy is the only orthopaedic surgeon in our area to have completed a fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery.

Dr. Tracy Presents to Gifted Class at North Pocono
Dr. Michael Tracy recently visited North Pocono Intermediate School and made a presentation to children in the gifted program. The students enjoyed the presentation, in particular having the chance to see examples of joint replacements. Read the full release.

Christopher Henderson, M.D. was recently honored with a 2013 Patients' Choice award. This recognition distinguishes him among the top 5% of our nation's 870,000 active physicians.

Dr. Tracy Invited to Share His Expertise with Other Surgeons

Michael Tracy, M.D. was on faculty at the recent DePuy Synthes Mitek Sports Medicine, Comprehensive Shoulder Course in Las Vegas, Nevada. The course was attended by orthopaedic surgeons from around the country. Dr. Tracy presented a lecture on subscapularis tears and demonstrated techniques for arthroscopic shoulder surgery and shoulder replacement.


Dr. Tracy is pictured with other faculty who were on staff for the 2-day event.

 

ACL Reconstruction Topic of Lecture
Jack Henzes, M.D. recently hosted a lecture for local physical therapists, physical therapy assistants and athletic trainers, titled "ACL Reconstruction 2013”.
Dr. Henzes is the team physician for football at Abington Heights for the last three years and team physician at Dunmore High School for the past 17 years. If you are interested in learning more please contact our office at (570) 307-1767.

Ninth Annual Health Fair in the Park
As a member and past president of the Lackawanna Medical Society, Dr. Henzes was happy to offer his support to this year’s event. The 2013 “Health Fair in the Park” featured over 80 healthcare and ancillary vendors/services and was supported by all local hospitals.  The Health Fair was free to the public and included multiple health screenings, giveaways, healthcare informational booths, educational handouts and children's activities.
