Philosophy of care

Most patients with back or neck pain do not need surgery. I believe my job is to discuss all the options with you so together we can make an informed decision about your care. I think patients do better when they play an active role in their treatment.

Why I entered medicine

I knew early on that I wanted to be a surgeon because of its hands-on aspect. My mother was an operating room nurse, so I had the opportunity to observe surgery while in high school. This experience steered me toward orthopedic surgery.

Community involvement

We are active in our church and with the various sports organizations in which our children are involved.

Personal interests

When not working I enjoy reading, guitar, golf and cycling.
