JOHN T. RICH, M.D. received his undergraduate education at Drexel University and his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. After a five year orthopedic residency at Geisinger-Danville, he completed a fellowship in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at Allegheny Hospital in Pittsburgh. Dr. Rich joined this practice in 1996.

Dr. Rich devotes his practice to management of disorders of the hand and upper extremity. Included in this specialty are skin, bone, muscle, tendon, joint, nerve and vascular conditions of the upper extremity which result in an alteration of hand function. He provides total care of hand or upper extremity problems whether acute, resulting from sudden onset of injury, or involving reconstruction of deformities resulting from arthritic conditions or congenital conditions. Some of the more common complaints he treats include carpal tunnel syndrome, tendinitis and arthritis. Dr. Rich is on the staff at Community Medical Center, Moses Taylor Hospital and was president of the Northeast Surgery Center for 12 years. He maintains an office here in Dickson City.

Dr. Rich is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons as well as the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. He holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications for Surgery of the Hand.
