It is with great respect that we recognize Scranton Orthopaedic Specialists Physicians Emeritus- Doctors Joseph Cesare and Edwin Malloy.


JOSEPH G. CESARE, M.D.

Physician Emeritus January 2014

Dr Joseph Cesare received his medical degree from Creighton School of Medicine. After completing a one year internship at Lankenau Hospital, he served two years in the United States Navy and served one year with the U.S. Marine Corp in Vietnam. He completed his residency program in orthopaedic surgery at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, PA. He returned to practice general orthopaedic surgery in Scranton in 1974.

Dr. Cesare is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons. He has served on the board of the Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Society and served as a counselor for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery. He was appointed as clinical assistant professor at Hahnemann Medical College in 1976 and served on the Orthopaedic Residency Committee. He was appointed Clinical Associate Professor at the Commonwealth Medical College in 2008.

He practices general orthopaedic surgery with a special interest in arthritis of the hip, knee and shoulder from a conservative standpoint.

Dr. Cesare is on the staff at Moses Taylor Hospital and Community Medical Center.

 

EDWIN S. MALLOY, M.D.

Dr. Edwin Malloy grew up in Dunmore and attended Dunmore High School. He received his premedical undergraduate education at the University of Scranton and his medical degree from Stritch School of Medicine, Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois. After completing a general surgery internship and orthopaedic surgery residency program at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, he returned to Scranton to practice.

Dr. Malloy practices general orthopaedics and is on the staff of Community Medical Center, Moses Taylor Hospital and Northeast Surgery Center. He has practiced orthopaedics here in Scranton for the past 28 years. He maintains his office in Dickson City.

Dr. Malloy is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
